Hyperspace of Orion Sector
As always first and foremost big thanks to all who support me, as I'll be able to commission more stuff for the upcoming module! Ashes of The Domain: Grave of The Colossus .
Changes to Hyperspace
Hyperspace in the Orion Sector has undergone several changes based on feedback. First Change: Hyperspace is now divided into four sections:
Eye of the Storm: The center of the Orion Sector, covered with extremely violent storms capable of decimating fleets if ventured into for too long. (Being around 7-8 seconds in storm will result in losing 1-3 ships per each strike)
Scar of Silence: A ring around the Eye of the Storm where no clouds spawn, creating a literal ring of calm.
Grand Fog: An area covered with hyperspace clouds. Research indicates that these clouds do not manifest storms, unlike those in the Eye of the Storm.
Sea of Abyss: An abyssal area located between the Orion Core worlds and the Orion Outer worlds.
Hyperspace Stabilizers have been repurposed. Instead of calming storms in a certain area, you will now need to activate around 10 of them around the Eye of the Storm to proceed towards the inner core worlds of the Orion Sector, which are filled with the wonders of Domain technology.
Additionally, there have been visual changes, such as a reduction in saturation.

Truly this is a purple eye there.

Adjustments of Hyperspace map
The hyperspace map of the Orion Sector has received slight adjustments
Centralization: The map now centralizes around the player's location.
Icons and Arrows: It includes icons indicating the player's location and arrows showing the direction in which the player is moving.
Fuel Range: The map displays the range in terms of fuel, helping players manage their travel efficiently.
Exploration Status: It indicates which systems have been explored and which ones have not.
A dedicated button where you would go back to gate that is linking both Persean and Orion sector.
Improved map!
Storytelling of Orion Sector
As a developer, I've always wanted players to be part of the story, albeit one they can no longer influence. This is the tale of a once-mighty colossus, now reduced to echoes of its former glory. As you venture towards the Grave of the Colossus, you will occasionally stumble upon Special Databanks, each initiating its own unique entry or questline, such as Project Salus
This storytelling approach aims to portray the past of the Orion Sector from various perspectives: scientists, officers, members of the Orion Council, and ordinary citizens. Each entry will reward you with a unique item, and even if you randomly discover the final location for each entry, the loot will be there. However, to piece together the full story, you will still need to explore other systems.
A story that is about to be pieced together.
I promised to showcase the First Battlegroup, but changes to Hyperspace were necessary. In the next dev diary, we will talk about them! Before we wrap up, here’s a small preview of what's to come.
