Flat Apogee Incident
Flat Apogee Incident (26.03.2025)
Hello everyone, welcome to dev diary, this one will cover content ( or at least give you all what direction) of module that is coming back : Seats of Power.
Complete Overhaul of Module and Change of Module Focus
For those who haven't been around since the beginning, Seats of Power was the second-ever module created (after Cryosleeper).
To quickly summarize what this module did: It added a capital mechanic the ability to declare a world as the capital of a faction. This granted that world the ability to build "Capital Buildings" : very expensive and highly unbalanced structures that could only be constructed on the capital.
It was removed because, at the time, I didn’t have a clear idea of how to expand it further and felt it was lacking depth.
After some time, I now have both the idea and the skills to bring this old module back with a fresh concept.
Empire Timeline and Empire Focuses
A new UI tab will be added under the command interface: Faction. This is where you'll find faction customization options (such as name, flag, etc., similar to the colony screen).
The main feature here will be the Empire Timeline and Focuses a mechanic heavily inspired by the Empire Timeline system coming in Stellaris 4.0.
Here’s how it will work: The timeline will offer a history of your empire and its notable achievements such as establishing your first colony, reaching size 6 for the first time, restoring a megastructure, and so on.
Completing notable achievements will reward you with Focus Points in different categories: Exploration, Research (when VOK is enabled), Industrialization, Military, and Trade.
Reaching a certain threshold in a specific focus type will unlock a unique building that provides significant benefits. Each focus will have its own dedicated building.
For example, earning enough points in Exploration will grant you access to Nova Exploraria very powerful Tech Mining Industry.
Faction Customization and Faction Policies
Additional features being planned include deeper customization for your faction. If possible, I plan to add support for you, as the faction leader, to choose what is legal or illegal on your markets!
Moreover, I will introduce Faction Policies to help you govern your empire more effectively and further maximize its potential.
This module will follow the same path as Question of Loyalty: focusing on roleplay, but this time centered around Empire Building roleplay.
As for the rest of the info Seats of Power 2.0 is planned for Q4. Until VOK 4.0 is finished, I can’t provide any additional details… at least not yet.
Have a nice day!
And also to not leave you only with wall of text: here is one of capitals that was existing and main culprit of this incident : Nova Exploraria.

Apogee situation is crazy
